Zoo Med ReptiSun Terrarium Hood Review

The Zoo Med ReptiSun Terrarium Hood is a great terrarium for your reptile or amphibian. This product has an automatic light control that turns on automatically when the sun goes down, and it also features an optional timer to turn off after three hours in order to give you time to clean up before bedtime.
The heart of this system is the heat lamp which provides 110 watts of UVB B-12 lighting and 50 watts of UVA (both are necessary for optimal health). It will help keep your pet warm at night while they sleep so they won’t be chilled by drafts coming through their cage enclosure. You can use it during the day as well if needed with just one switch though most reptiles need more than 24 hours without sunshine each week.
This device contains a heating element rather than wasting electricity using fans like many other brands do, so its effectiveness increases over long periods of time as opposed to short intervals only lasting minutes or less. The Zoo Med ReptiSun Terrarium Hood comes with two filters – one high efficiency filter for lower temperatures below 80 degrees Fahrenheit, and another low efficiency filter for higher temperatures going above 85 degrees Fahrenheit

Features of Zoo Med ReptiSun Terrarium Hood

1. Convenient on/off switch
2. Holds T8 36 lamps
3. This hood fits all standard 36 long aquariums
4. Features an energy efficient, flicker-free electronic ballast

1. Convenient on/off switch

The Zoo Med ReptiSun Terrarium Hood provides the perfect environment for your pet reptile or amphibian. The innovative design allows you to easily switch on and off, allowing it to be used in any room of the house with ease. Just turn on when your pet needs light, then turn back down at night while they sleep.

2. Holds T8 36 lamps

A terrarium hood is a device that helps keep your reptile habitat cool and humid. It also prevents light from escaping through the top of their enclosure, which would otherwise cause them to overheat or dry out. The ReptiSun Terrarium Hood by Zoo Med keeps a range of lamps far enough away to prevent it so you can always see your pet in its home.

3. This hood fits all standard 36 long aquariums

The Zoo Med ReptiSun Terrarium hood is a practical and versatile solution. With its 360-degree rotating head, it can be used in any room of the house to provide overall light for your reptile or amphibian’s habitat. The adjustable thermostats allow you to control the heat output from 36 degrees Fahrenheit all the way up to 88 degrees Fahrenheit. This means that you won’t have to worry about over exposing your pets with too much sunlight during warmer weather months!

4. Features an energy efficient, flicker-free electronic ballast

The Zoo Med ReptiSun Terrarium Hood is energy efficient, flicker-free and easy to use. It also has a light sensor that automatically switches the lamp on when it senses bright daylight or artificial lighting anywhere around the terrarium. And since you can tilt this hood for increased ventilation, your reptile never feels too hot in any situation.

Reviews & Ratings of Zoo Med ReptiSun Terrarium Hood

Our Rating: 4.5 Out of 5 Stars

I found 13 reviews of the Zoo Med ReptiSun Terrarium Hood at Amazon and they had awarded it 4.5 stars out of a possible 5 on average.
The customer reviews on Amazon are generally positive, but there were some niggling points raised. One said, “This product is not for animals with more than 3 feet in length” and another one said that this product was too small for large reptiles like leopards or alligators (for which I would disagree).
However, none of the other reviewers seem to have experienced these problems either so perhaps it isn’t a widespread issue after all; also two customers felt that this product was very fragile in transit. Other people thought it worked well and should be used under supervision whilst others mentioned how much they loved their terrarium hoods! That makes me feel confident recommending them as well

Conclusion

Wondering if a cage needs to be installed outside in the sunlight? The Zoo Med ReptiSun Terrarium Hood provides UVB fluorescent light and heat while protecting your pet’s delicate eyes.
